Adonai Arts Academy’s music program has grown so much in the past two years! We’ve gone from three instructors to over a dozen. We’ve introduced group classes. We’ve expanded to multiple locations. In May 2018, we even brought on a Music Director.

We offer private instruction year-round. Private music lessons are not tied to a semester schedule, so you can begin private music lessons any time of the year. To schedule private music lessons, email for more info.

We offer group classes on a semester schedule. Beginning piano class is offered every semester. We also offer different beginning music classes, dependent on demand. In the Spring of 2019, we introduced a beginning drum class, to much success! To view which music classes we offer, please visit our database at The Studio Director.

Once or twice a year, we hold a music recital. All students at all our locations are given the opportunity to perform on their instrument in front of an audience of over a hundred! Our beginning music classes perform a more intimate “family recital” on the last day of their class, for any family members or family friends. We love to provide students with the opportunity to show the world how much they’ve learned!

We have two different locations, where we offer music lessons and classes:

East Nashville: Our Davidson County location is Nashville First Church of the Nazarene, in the heart of East Nashville. At this location, we offer group classes in beginning piano, drums, and guitar. We also offer private lessons in piano, drums, guitar, violin, cello, voice, woodwinds, and theory & composition. Email if you have questions or would like to schedule lessons.

Hermitage/Mt. Juliet: Our Wilson County location is Hobson Pike Baptist Church, in Hermitage — eight minutes south of the Mt. Juliet exit on I-40. On Tuesdays at this location, we offer private piano and guitar lessons. Email if you have questions or would like to schedule lessons.

We partner with Warner Elementary School, an East Nashville magnet school. Every week, Adonai Arts Academy offers a free afterschool choir to the students.

Our music director is T. Josiah Haynes, but we just know him as T.J. He began instructing with Adonai Arts Academy in September 2018. He was pivotal in Adonai Arts Academy’s partnerships with Emmaus and KidPOWER. He took on the role of Music Director in May 2018. Beyond administrative and teaching duties, T.J. also manages Adonai Arts Academy’s social media, website, and graphic design. You can email him at for any questions!
